What is Local Search?

Local search is becoming an increasingly important way for businesses to get found online. As we showed you on the front page of the site with those statistics, consumers are now more reliant on web content to help influence their initial decisions.

Check out our simple business website services.

According to comScore, 54% of Americans are now using the internet to find local companies, instead of the phone book. It’s of our opinion that this number will continue to grow, and your business absolutely needs to be a part of it. And, if 61% of local searches result in purchases (comScore), isn’t that a market that you want your business to be involved in?

How is Local Search Used?

Just think about it. How many times have you thought, as an example, “I need to find a new dentist. That last guy hurts too much.” The first thing you probably do is turn to your husband/wife and ask if they know of anyone else in town. When she says no, where do you typically go next?

You got it, over 50% of people go right to the internet. They open up a browser, head to Google, and type in, “miami florida dentist,” hit Enter, and then are presented with a bevy of results to choose from.

That’s local search. And that’s where you want to be. We can help you get there.

The Benefits of Local Search

For starters, it’ll help you get customers.  By now, most businesses realize that need to have an online presence to be competitive in the market, but they haven’t done enough work on their site to be readily present online. The web savvy nephew of yours who built the site is probably aware of search engine optimization, both online and offline tactics, but do they realize the importance of trust and popularity in Google’s eyes?

That’s what we do with our syndicated link building service. Our high quality backlinks are scattered around the internet on a variety of related sites using anchor text that help your business web site rank higher. For example, each month we would create 100 links on sites using the anchor text “miami florida dentist” and another 100 links using a combination of “dental office miami” and “dentists in south florida” and “miami dental offices” to create a natural system of links all pointing back to your site. (Prior to this, we do a market analysis to determine the best available keywords for your business in your area. It’s doubtful that you will rank high for the term “dentists” because it’s too broad. Local search terms are must easier to rank for due to smaller competition. We’ll then have you or whoever manages your site do some minor modifications [we’ll give you instructions] to ensure that the keywords and webpage on your site are properly in sync.)

When someone in Miami is looking for a dentist (or whatever/wherever), and they type in the exact phrase(s) we’ve targeted for you in our link building efforts, over time you will begin to rank higher in SERPs and you’ll reap the benefits of local search.
