We hate to sound like your mom, but the truth about free web traffic is, there’s no such thing as a free lunch. (Old saying, but you get the idea.) And it still costs you something, whether it’s time, effort, or reputation. Now, granted, there are some decent free web traffic systems out there, and we’ll cover a couple of those in a minute, but nothing beats good old fashioned organic search results.
(No free lunch? Try our Facebook ad management service.)
The truth is, if you put in a good bit of effort, a lot of time, and even a little bit of money initially, your end game can be a ton of FREE traffic to your website through those very same organic search results.
So How Do I Get Free Web Traffic?
The benefit to all of your time and effort is that search engines reward you for it with free web traffic. If you do the proper on-page SEO work, and get relevant backlinks around the internet (off-page SEO), then your entire site, or even just a highly relevant page with a good article on it, will rise higher in search engine rankings, and you’ll increase your web visibility by thousands (if not more) on a monthly basis.
We addressed this earlier, but the real cost of free web traffic could be your reputation. You don’t want to take the chance of getting penalized and tossed in the infamous Google Sandbox (does it really exist?) if you use some of these schemes that try to game the system. If you stumble across a website promising you thousands of visitors to your site for free within minutes, run the other way as fast as you can.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again, what you need, and what your site needs to generate free web traffic, is high quality backlinks around the internet that use targeted anchor text. According to Ben Hunt in his excellent work “Convert!” it isn’t so much about what your site thinks it’s about; it’s about what the internet says your site is about. He gives a great example of one of his own sites that brought him thousands of visitors a month, for free, for the term “web 2.0 design.” The entire page only mentioned the term ONCE, so the actual on-page relevance was low, but his inbound links on relevant pages said that’s what it was about with their anchor text. The page has remained in the #1 and #2 spots on Google for years.
Free Web Traffic Methods
They do exist, and one of the better ones is called Free Traffic System (you can look it up; not too hard to find!) but it requires a lot of work writing articles, spinning articles, submitting them, and making sure the links have been indexed, which will still cost you money if you have to outsource the article-writing, buy article spinning software, and pay for a backlink indexing service. Plus, the last time we used it, the system itself was difficult to use. They’ve since done an update to make it easier, and it should be just one tool in your arsenal if you decide to go that route.
If you don’t want to take the time to build your presence around the web with cheap web traffic services, let us take care of that for you. Also, keep in mind that while free web traffic (not using conventional methods) does exist, just make sure that the effort to get it is worth your time, and isn’t going to cost you in reputation.
